Mechlo is an artist who is constantly unsatisfied with a sound. Trashy and loud? Calm and quiet? Upbeat and melodic? WTF and OMGROFL? Yeah, hes got those. A good indicator of this identity disorder is the band that is going to join him on stage. Collin Klas will provide the crazy beat, showing the Gameboy how its really done. Billy Michelson will provide the cello making it… you know… real music. Providing a beauty in art that electronics cannot emulate. You can listen to Billy’s project Third Seven at http://www.thirdseven.com/. This music is what inspired Mechlo to take the next step in his project.

He will methodically change the way you think about linear music and then he will make you question everything. Colors will taste different, the Earth will no longer be round, existence will end… and that is just after his Chrono Trigger cover. Obey!

Mad geniuses rarely show their face in public, it’s just the nature of what they do. Slaving over circuitry, working to make their deathray as good as it can be. Luckily for us, this mad genius is showing his face and bringing some of his abominations to entertain us. Be it bent drum machines from the 80′s, 8-bit keyboard samplers, or the tried and true LSDJ in a Gameboy, hes got it and its going to make you want to visit his island lair where he keeps his half-pony, half-monkey. It will dance for you.

Big ideas, big sounds. If Portland had a signature chip sound it would be complex, chaotic, and highly groovable. I introduce, Plain Flavored. I considered filing a false advertising lawsuit because his tunes are anything but. His mix of IDM, synthpop, and chip is an inspiring romp through the limit-pushing expanses of the Nintendo Gameboy. Give him a listen and when you go to Micropalooza you can pretend you knew about him for years. Your friends will be jealous.

With his arsenal of 8-bit and vintage analog synthesis, he will show you the true power of the force. Oh yeah, by the way. Turns out he’s a jedi. Yeah. Deal with that.
